Current Numbers and Status
Well, the PokerStars Blogger Championship is going very well!!! We have had over 1,600 unique entries with about 1,200 people now registered. It has certainly been a daunting task to verify all these blogs, but cool at the same time since I get to check out a lot of unique sites. Couple of things, I have run across: a cool graphic of a 'large' kid dancing for some cake, a dissertation of our marketing strategy, some things I dont think I should write about ( ;, some interesting takes on the a competitors big news announcement..., and a bunch of cool songs when you open up the blog ranging from Gwen Stefani to Linkin Park to the Dukes of Hazzard theme song.
I'd say all in all, the Championship is pretty successful and will be a great event for years to come. We hope you all will enjoy it also. Of course, we have a business strategy behind it of getting publicity and what not, but we also really believe in the building of communities. Like our pokersite where we have a huge community base, the blogger world also has this. I do not think you can deny our commitment to your community giving out a tournament with cool FREE prizes, but you can also see that we have our own blog (url found on the home page), blogs we did just for certain events (http://caribbeanpokeradventure.blogspot.com/) and the one your reading. Along with working with Wil Wheaton who is a big voice in the blogger community.
We hope you enjoy our daily giveaway for cool blogs we come across (I wish I could pick more because there are plenty I will be forced to leave out the award pool).
You all should proud of your community and being THE voices of the internet even if your just talking about the mid-term you have tomorrow or directing people to cool destinations on the web.
